Courtroom Ready Opinions

Courtroom Ready Opinions

An accident that seems to have a simple cause when it occurs can sometimes be the most challenging and complex when it comes to claim resolution and litigation. CED has the capability and experience with complex accidents to make each case “courtroom ready.”  CED uses a team approach to investigate and review accidents when cases seem to be complex.  This team will investigative not only the engineering principle involved in the accident but also the ways and means by which the accident occurred.

One such way that been very successful when investigating accidents and losses is to provide testing.  In a number of cases, CED engineers are able to take initial findings and through testing, reinforce opinions or disprove other opinions.  CED can design a testing protocol using exemplars (exact replicas of the alleged product) and the similar environmental condition to determine if the alleged actions actually caused the accident.

Examples of CED Testing Capabilities

Jet Ski Explosion – CED was retained on a Jet Ski accident involving a potential explosion.  Through testing CED had the ability to replicate the events in the alleged accident.

Pressure Cooker Testing – CED was retained on an accident involving a pressure cooker where it was alleged that the pressure cooker could open under pressure.

Boiler Leak – CED was retained on a case where the alleged plaintiff stated that the leak from a boiler was not noticeable.  Through testing CED was able replicate similar conditions to show that such a leak would be obvious.
