Crash Investigations

When vehicular accidents occur it is never as simple as “who hit whom” but rather what factors and conditions play a role in the accident. CED engineers in the Vehicle Crash Group (VCG) possess special training and advanced education to approach accidents from several different factors to provide a thorough comprehensive analysis.

Our engineers evaluate each accident using several research tools such as traffic crash reports that contain information as location, driver(s) information, vehicle(s), conditions, safety equipment, contributing factors, diagrams and photographs. Along with traffic reports, our engineers research information on manufacturer’s recalls and similar component failures using a variety of internet and association publications. After initial research, our experts conduct a site inspection when applicable, to collect any evidence or contributing factors that may include skid mark measurements, gouges, tire crahinves2

marks and other possible evidence.
