Dr. Erin Ashley is one of CED’s Fire Protection Consultants. Dr. Ashley posses a unique blend of fire protection engineering and experience with green building and sustainability standards. Her education includes a Doctoral Degree in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, where her doctoral research included work on the waking effectiveness of
emergency alerting devices for the hearing impaired. She also earned a Masters degree in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Along with her role as a Fire Protection Consultant at CED, Dr. Ashley‘s work has bridged the gap between the field of fire protection engineering and green building. Her work has also provided her opportunity to speak at more than 50 conferences or courses and she has published several articles on sustainability.
Prior to her position in the sustainability field, Dr. Ashley worked for ten years in the field of fire protection engineering. She is well versed in fire litigation support and has been active on several high profile cases. Her work has included extensive experience with CFD modeling and fire code analysis.
