George M. Saunders Jr., is one of CED Investigative Technologies premier Fire and Explosion expert. He also has vast experience in mechanical power transmission systems, as well as the design and evaluation of aviations systems, machine guards, and consumer product safety evaluation and accident reconstruction.

Mr. Saunders holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Frostburg State University, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, as well as a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.

Mr. Saunders came to CED from the US Navy where he worked as a civilian mechanical engineer; most recently in a helicopter transmission design group where he was the team leader for the development of the new transmission system on the AH-1Z/UH-1Y helicopters. In 2001, he was nominated for the American Helicopter Society’s Francois Xavier Bognoud Award. He is also a member of the National Association of Fire Investigators and the American Society of Safety Engineers.

At CED Mr. Saunders is involved with the design and evaluation of aviation mechanical systems, analysis and guarding of machines, consumer product evaluation and accident reconstruction. As a certified fire and explosion investigator, Mr. Saunders is a one of CED’s primary expert in fire origin and cause determination.
