CED engineers have a vast array of experience analyzing component, system and mechanical defects. CED engineers have advanced engineering backgrounds that make them ideal for a comprehensive opinion. Our engineers can break the potential contributing factors of any accident into subsets and approach each from an engineering perspective. Component and system analysis is the science of taking parts of a vehicle and making sure  those parts operated as designed and intended.  CED engineers also produce exemplars or exact replicas of the suspected failure, and design a test or series of tests to replicate the exact conditions of the accident to test system performance.
Along with designing and executing tests, CED engineers have the ability to test materials within the component for such things as stress and fatigue. CED  material scientists can evaluate individual components and perform a material analysis to determine the material properties of the component, and then offer opinions on whether the component was proper and/or contributed to the accident in cases such as tire separation, pump failures and tire blowouts.  Another area in the component and system defect analysis is the research databases and publications that are available to CED engineers. Our engineers research suspected part failures and look for recalls, similar accidents and potential issues from some of the most well respected organizations and standards bodies making sure that your loss is “courtroom ready.”
