Certified Fire Protection Specialists

The Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) credential was created in 1971 by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to document competency and offer professional recognition for individuals involved in curtailing fire loss.

The CFPS credential is awarded to people who have demonstrated a level of professionalism through applied work experience, related education opportunities, and successful completion of a certification examination.

The engineers at CED who have achieved the CFPS certification have completed rigorous training and have a thorough understanding of the application of fire safety, protection, prevention, and suppression technologies. These engineers include George Wharton, Tom Hannon, and Gregory Paulsen.

They can opine on cases involving:

  • Sprinkler Systems
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Restaurants/Commercial Kitchen Fire Extinguishing Systems
  • Marine On-board Fire Extinguishing Systems
  • Aspects of Fire Protection Construction:
    • Firewalls
    • Fire Doors
    • Fire-resistive Materials
  • Fire protection measures for safe egress from structures, arrangement and fire-separation/protection measures in structures

If your case involves fire safety, protection, prevention, or suppression technologies, you’ll want to make sure your expert is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist. Simplify the search for the right expert and contact CED to find the right expert trained to understand proper inspection procedure.
