Biography/Background

Gregory Krall, P.E., joined CED after serving eight years as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer in the United States Navy. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University at University Park, Mr. Krall was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Krall completed the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps Officer School where he was trained and certified in U.S. Navy Expeditionary Construction and Public Works Management.

Mr. Krall’s first assignment was with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 based out of Gulfport, MS. There, he started as the Battalion’s Convoy Security Element Officer-in-Charge, where he led a 36-person platoon responsible for the safe and effective employment of armored gun trucks supporting Battalion movements in a hostile environment. The second half of his tour with the Seabees saw him managing a team of 50 equipment operators and mechanics responsible for the upkeep and operation of 373 pieces of construction equipment in the Southeast Pacific, strategically staged for quick regional response.

Next, Mr. Krall served as a Utilities Commodity Manager at Naval Station Mayport, responsible for the production, generation, and distribution of water and steam to a base with a peak population of 20,000 military and civilian personnel.  While also at Mayport, he moved into the role of a Construction Manager where he handled not only regular construction projects, but effectively oversaw the development and execution of contingency hurricane damage repairs.  Mr. Krall’s construction management experience continued to grow during his following tour at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, where he was hand-selected to fill the roles of the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director and Supervisory General Engineer during absences in those positions.

Mr. Krall’s military background has prepared him to provide sound engineering principles and creative insight to develop investigative reports that shed light into the causes and effects encountered in the world of forensic engineering.
