CED Technologies Prioritizes Safety and Accuracy in Investigations

As leaders in forensic engineering, CED Technologies consistently updates safety protocols to protect our engineers, clients, and investigation sites. To ensure the best services for our clients, we have a process to prepare and execute successful inspections to determine the correct causes of an event.

Clarity of the Assignment

To determine the scope of our services, our engineering and business development teams collaborate to ensure clear communication with our clients.

Before the investigations, our business development team will discuss with the client the key deliverables the engineer will provide, including the scan of site items of interest, collection of evidence, and creation of simulation models.

Based on the established deliverables, our business development team will then determine the most qualified engineer to lead and complete the case.

The engineer will then directly discuss the upcoming assignment and timeline for the deliverables with our clients.

At CED, our business development and engineering teams maintain confidentiality in all matters related to client and case information.

Inspection of the Site

After reviewing the case files and information regarding the location of the accident, our engineers will schedule a site inspection with our client and property managers.

Before the scheduled inspection, the engineer will identify any expected hazards, which can vary greatly depending on the site location and event specifics. The engineer will then create a detailed list of potential hazards to safeguard themselves and the site.

Our engineers will leverage their specialized expertise to address specific inspection scenarios and ensure adherence to best safety practices.

Before the inspection, our engineers prepare all necessary protective equipment and acquire any specialized PPE needed in advance. Our engineers used PPE equipment such as eye protection, respiratory protection, a hard hat, coveralls, steel-toed boots, gloves, hearing protection, a first aid kit, and boot covers.

Our engineers also use technologies such as a multimeter, CO detector, and thermal camera to confirm the conditions are safe so that the inspection can be completed at that time.

Site Inspection Protocols

Our engineers arrive at the inspection early and confirm with the property manager or controlling entity that the site is clear for inspection.

CED Technologies supplies our engineers with cameras, flashlights, lasers, measuring tape, a digital level, and a laptop or a tablet to record all observations at the inspection.

Post Inspection Report

Following the inspection, our engineers use all recordings to create a systematic and accurate report. Throughout this process, our engineers stay in contact with our clients to meet any additional deliverables determined at the beginning of the case.

As a leader in the forensic engineering firm, our objectives surrounding safety, clear communication, and confidentiality enable us to complete successful investigations for our clients. Contact us today to learn more about our services or submit an assignment.
