Biography/Background

Abe Warfel (PE/CFEI/CVFI/ACTAR) graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Warfel is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Warfel arrived to CED following a decade of mechanical engineering experience including design and construction of large-scale commercial, governmental, institutional, and residential facilities. In addition to new design and construction, this professional experience encompassed physical surveys of existing mechanical systems for the purposes of condition assessments, life cycle analysis, and technical reporting. Mr. Warfel worked on various projects as a lead mechanical engineer on both the national and regional level. His project responsibilities included design and documentation of mechanical systems for new construction, energy modeling, and assessments of existing facilities. Clients ranged across multiple sectors including a variety of governmental agencies. Mr. Warfel was previously granted a TS (Top Secret) clearance through the Department of Defense.

Mr. Warfel’s work at CED includes traffic accident reconstruction, fire origin and cause investigations, vehicle fire investigations, mechanical equipment accidents and failures, HVAC design, water intrusions, and others. Mr. Warfel is trained and experienced in the imaging of crash related data from passenger and commercial vehicles, to include the interpretation and analysis of such data for use in accident reconstruction.

In addition to professional engineering licenses, Mr. Warfel is a Certified Fire and Explosions Investigator CFEI, obtained through National Association of Fire Investigators ; a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, obtained through NAFI; and an ACTAR Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist, obtained through The Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstructionist .
