Biography/Background

Timothy D. Evans is a mechanical engineer with over 31 years of engineering experience in technical areas including automotive systems, industrial processing equipment, medical devices, and vibration analysis. Mr. Evans is a professional engineer licensed in the states of Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. He is also admitted as an Attorney in the State of New York and is a Patent Attorney registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Evans has worked in a variety of engineering roles, beginning as a manufacturing/tooling engineer for a Northeast Ohio threaded fastener company. Mr. Evans later worked as a product design engineer within the industrial equipment (steel coil processing) and automotive driveline industries before and during law school.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Evans worked as a patent attorney focusing on material sciences, mechanical systems, energy storage, medical devices, and radio frequency devices. Later, Mr. Evans worked as part of multiple product engineering teams dedicated to medical devices, such as suture anchors, electrosurgical generators and handpieces, trocars, or the like.

Immediately prior to joining CED, Mr. Evans was the Vice President of Engineering and General Counsel for a heavy highway construction company, whose primary focus was subsurface utility construction, complex culverts, and airport reconstruction. Due to his role and the nature of this work, Mr. Evans was involved with the monitoring of construction vibrations, structural surveys pre and post construction operations, and engineering solutions to lessen those vibrations.

Due to his unique mix of engineering and leadership roles, Mr. Evans has had the opportunity to conduct many failure and other investigations involving materials, mechanical components/systems, manufacturing processes/controls, electrical components/controls, electrosurgical tools, construction processes, construction vibrations, suture anchors, surgical fixtures, energy storage, technical contracts, and technology-based licenses.
