Expertise in Human Factors

“Human factors ” is a term that is thrown about often in litigation and claims management. Human factors experts are regularly retained to investigate accidents and help explain what happened, why it happened, and what, if anything, could have been done differently.
Human factors describes the interaction of people, their abilities and limitations, the tools they use and the environments in which they function. The multi-disciplinary field has elements in behavioral and engineering sciences. Human factors experts study how limitations and capabilities of people , including perception, memory, reaction time and physical size affect the way they interact with environments, products and processes. Considerations in human factors surveys include visibility, audibility, understandability, distractions and expectations.
Experts in human factors can be retained in many types of cases, including those involving premises liability, product liability, workplace injuries and vehicular accidents. They evaluate each situation to expand and elaborate on important factors relevant to the case or claim and sometimes to correct misconceptions that lay people might otherwise hold.
CED Technologies has several experts that can evaluate human factors issues.
