George Mayforth, P.E. is a Civil Engineer at CED. Mr. Mayforth has nearly three decades of experience in the Construction Management of major highway construction throughout the state of FL, which ranged in construction value between $1M and $250M. Mr. Mayforth has worked with some of the nation’s leading Contractors as well as Designers and is well versed in FDOT project management procedures. Mr. Mayforth holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Virginia Military Institute and is a registered professional engineer in several states. During his nearly 30 years, Mr. Mayforth has overseen the construction of roads (asphalt and concrete), bridges, runways and taxiways, and marinas, which included both state and federal specifications.
The projects constructed under Mr. Mayforth’s supervision have included pre-stressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete (to include segmental construction), directional drilling (diameters exceeding 20 inches), geosynthetic reinforced soils, drilled shaft foundations, steel and concrete pile foundations, water main/force main/reclaimed systems, closed storm water systems, and signalization.
As a Project Manager, Mr. Mayforth was also responsible for the review of construction schedules, analysis of construction claims, implementation of Traffic Control Plans, and the analysis of material reports. Mr. Mayforth has also managed various project permits to verify that the concerns of the governing agencies were satisfied. Mr. Mayforth came to CED in 2012 and has become a proven asset to the organization through his wide-ranging exposure to the construction industry.
