Jonathan Costa, P.E. is a Civil/Structural Engineer at CED with extensive experience in the analysis, design, and failure investigation of complex structural systems. He holds Professional Engineer licenses in multiple states, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Rhode Island
Background:
Prior to joining CED, Mr. Costa served as a Senior Structural Engineer at Loureiro Engineering and a Project Engineer at Tighe & Bond engineering, where he managed diverse engineering projects. His background also includes significant experience at General Dynamics Electric Boat, where he served as an Engineer Specialist and Business Systems Analyst. His technical expertise encompasses a wide range of structural materials and systems, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design, as well as foundation analysis, retaining walls, and anchorage design.
At CED, Mr. Costa focuses on forensic engineering investigations involving construction and design defects, building code and life safety evaluations, and structural failure analysis. He is a certified Mobile Crane Operator and holds multiple specialized certifications from Haag in built-up, metal, and low-slope roofing systems. Additionally, he has completed advanced training in accessibility standards under the ADA and the International Building Code.
